Quote of the Week: R.C. Sproul

“Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever.”–The Westminster Shorter Catechism

R.C. Sproul’s quote comes from the Latin theological term “coram Deo.” He explains: “This phrase literally refers to something that takes place in the presence of, or before the face of, God. To live coram Deo is to live one’s entire life in the presence of God, under the authority of God, to the glory of God.” (Read the whole article here. It’s a brief, inspiring piece of encouragement!)

Here is an article from John MacArthur that gives some practical ways for living for God’s glory. Among them are:

  • bear fruit
  • be content
  • pray according to God’s will
  • proclaim God’s word
